Evan Brenner is particularly interested in the Buddha's life as an expression and example of spiritual struggle, acheivement, and on-going challenge.

Evan majored in Drama and Religion at Vassar College then received a Masters Degree in Dramatic Writing at Loyola Marymount University. While living in Russia, he wrote and directed the feature film Sasha's Riddle, a Russian language story about a 10-year-old boy [Read a review] [Read a NY Times article]. He is a veteran writer and actor in New York Independent film and his directing credits for television include America's Most Wanted and Little Bill.

Evan has practiced meditation and studied Buddhism for more than twenty years. He received a novice Zen Buddhist ordination in 2001 and since 2003 he has pursued canonical sutra studies in the Therevada tradition. He is an enthusiastic, though perpetually intermediate yoga practitioner at Kula Yoga in downtown Manhattan.
